Important breeding colony of Slender Billed Gull at Sant Antoni!

During the anual breeding census of the old salt pans of Sant Antoni, between may 17th and june 6th, 190 breeding pairs of Slende Billed Gull (Larus genei) were counted, being the most important breeding colony of this species at the Ebro Delta. After more than 10 years without breeding in this area, last year due to some of the LIFE Project actions like the building of new breeding islands, last year this species bred at Sant Antoni. This year the colony was established at the same place that the year before. It was also detected one colony of Sterna nilotica  with 38 pairs and a pair of Audouin's Gull (Larus audouinii).
